Objective
Parliamentary system of Government enshrines the principle of accountability of the executive to the legislature on a continuing basis. It also ensures a harmonious relationship between the two organs of Government to further the interests of the people. Broadly speaking this is the first and foremost object of a democratic polity. Parliamentary Affairs Department acts as a bridge in an institutionalised form between the legislative and the executive organs of the Government and remains vigilant to see that the formulation and implementation of policies and programmes are facilitated through continuous inter-action and co-ordination between the law-making and law-enforcing bodies.
